The Brautigan Library
1970, Poet Richard Brautigan published a book called, "The Abortion".
The main character of which was a Librarian who ran a library full of unpublished books.
A dream library of sorts,
where anyone who wrote a book
could place it on the shelves-
and share it with the world.
After Brautigans "self-inflicted death" in 1984 - Brautigan Libraries started to appear around the country. The most famous of which in Burlington, Vermont - although I do believe it may have closed.
In any case, I like to think of the whole blog-o-sphere as a sort of Brautigan Library- and our blogs are its books.
