Kidnapped...
So, not like anyone noticed that the non-blogger lurker was not home for the past day or so... but for those of you who did, you'll be happy to know that I am back, and safe. My best friend had some "business" to take care of (read that as stalking a client's soon-to-be-ex to serve walking papers), and her firm put us up for the weekend to take care of said business, so she effectively kidnapped me on Friday early afternoon and we went on our mission... (cue covert operation music here). On our way there, we didn't hit too much traffic, and with a ton of luck we narrowly missed some traffic hitting us (literally)... hope that poor bastard in the blue Volvo who got creamed at around 4p is ok, but we were so happy he didn't slide into us on the way.
We stayed at the swankiest hotel there, and this picture shows just how much they care about you getting a good night's rest.... or so we thought.... until we heard the fucking TRAIN roll through the city a few times that night.
Still, that sleepy town served us up enough double shot infused cosmos to help us tune that train out even without the earplugs. We terrorized the Blue Agave after our mission was complete... and by terrorize I mean we munched on some appetizers and sipped our cocktails as we ignored all the sleepy-town locals. Oh yeah, we also got a few sweet words cooed to us over the phone by 'el que es muy caliente'... Thank you 'senor caliente', and thank you Santa Barbara for putting up with these troublemakers
